Fair Housing Act: the what, when, who, and why” is an interactive presentation
that will provide an overview of how to best approach reasonable accommodation
and modification requests and requests for emotional support animals and
service animals – including what to ask, what not to ask, what is
reasonable, when to grant or deny a request, when to cover any request-related
costs, and the difference between emotional support animals and service animals
(spoiler: there is a difference!). The presentation will include scenarios and
situations that range from parking, to exterior modifications, exotic animals,
and interpreters, ensuring that those in attendance walk away with both a
fundamental understanding and practical application of how to handle these
requests.

Large-Scale managers are inundated with communications from residents and community volunteers. With our culture of immediacy, this deluge in communications can lead to fatigue, decreased job satisfaction, and ultimately burn out. This presentation will address the relationship between communication patterns and burnout and provide strategies to foster healthy and effective interactions with residents and community volunteers, including communications with “difficult" people.
