Conceptualized and built in the 1960s and 1970s by Kettler Brothers Incorporated, Montgomery Village is a unique planned community in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland. This pioneer “new town” nestled on over 2,100 acres, ushered in previously unheard of planning and housing types in the county and became a model for many future housing developments in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and beyond.

Today, Montgomery Village is home to more than 40,000 residents and is nearing 60 years old. The Montgomery Village Foundation, Inc. (MVF) has nurtured and sustained the growth of the Village as well as expanded its ownership of public land, which now totals more than 335 acres, for the benefit of all residents. MVF works with the boards of directors for more than 25 local associations to maintain the community.

MVF owns and operates six pools, more than 20 sports courts (tennis, pickleball, basketball, soccer), four community centers, 19 recreation and park areas and a natural amphitheater. Year round, the Department of Recreation and Parks offers a variety of programs for all ages, and during the summer sponsors a community-wide Fourth of July Parade and Celebration and concerts at the amphitheater.

With growing area employment and plenty of amenities, Montgomery Village’s landscape is dotted with rolling green hills, beautiful parks, lakes and cherry blossoms. With an abundance of housing choices, Montgomery Village is the ideal place for singles looking to establish themselves, families to expand and thrive, and seniors to begin the next phase of their lives.
