Special room rates are available for Large-Scale Manager Workshop registrants at the Marriott starting at $279 per night. CAI discounted rates are available September 13 ​– September 17, 2022. Group guestroom rates will apply three (3) days prior to and three (3) days following Workshop dates based on availability.​

If your stay is outside these dates, please call the hotel to make reservations: (949) 661-5000. A limited number of rooms have been reserved and will be held as a block until filled or until Monday, August 22, 2022 at which time they will be released to the public. All attendees are strongly encouraged to stay at the Workshop hotel which helps us meet our contractual obligations and keep costs low for the overall Workshop. Please m​ake your reservations early!


​The Resort Fee, which is not included in the group rate, has been reduced to $19 room, per night plus applicable state and local taxes.

The Resort Fee includes the following:

  • High Speed Internet Access (Enhanced Wireless)
  • Unlimited Domestic Local & Long-Distance Phone Calls
  • Use of yoga mats, surfboards, boogie boards, ping pong, bocce ball, Frisbee, bicycles, shoeshine service, tennis court, board games, footballs (some limitations apply).
  • 24-hour access to Fitness Center will be available to all guests in the Group.
  • Parking is based on current rates:

          Discounted Event/Day Rate = $20 per vehicle, valet parking
          Overnight Rate = $30 per vehicle, valet parking

  • ​Housekeeping Gratuity: A $3 per room, per night, plus applicable state and local taxes will be charged for housekeeping staff. Evening turndown service is included in this charge.
  • Porterage: A service charge of $5 on arrival and $5 on departure will be at the discretion of the individual guest. ​

LAGUNA CLIFFS MARRIOTT HOTEL:

Perched atop the cliffs of Dana Point overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa features 2 year-round heated swimming pools that offer child-friendly zones. This resort features a restaurant and full-service spa. Beach and harbor access is just 1,500 feet away.

Each contemporary guest room at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort provides a flat-screen TV and a Bluetooth compatible Tivoli radio. Guest rooms include a coffee machine and plush robes. Ocean view rooms are available.

All 378 guest rooms have gone under a $25 million renovation, including all of the suites. The rooms are dressed in an intentionally tonal color palette of warm creams, clean whites and soft grey tones. All rooms have hardwood floors, water efficient rain showers, 55" TV's, custom robes and custom linens.

The Spa at Laguna Cliffs offers massages, specialty treatments, a steam room and a relaxing hot tub. The fitness center includes free weights and cardio machines with personal TVs. A pickleball court is available on site.

Downtown Laguna Beach is less than 8.7 mi from the property. The historic surrounding Dana Point community offers world-class golf courses, shopping, dining and entertainment options. Outlet mall shopping at San Clemente is 4.7 mi from the property.

TRAVEL:

The Laguna Cliffs Marriott is 25 miles from John Wayne Airport (SNA), 66 miles to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and 66 miles to San Diego International Airport (SAN). Taxi and shuttle services are available from the airport to the hotel and can be arranged upon arrival. Rental car agencies are also on-site in airport terminals. Private transportation services are also an option.

​WEATHER:

Southern California weather in September is usually warm with low humidity. The average high is 85 degrees and the average low is 65 degrees. Attire for the event is California casual.  Attendees should be prepared with comfortable footwear for plenty of walking (inside and out).​

LOCAL ACTIVITIES:

Del Mar Pool Splash Zone​

Located on property at the Del Mar Pool, children can come enjoy the water fountains and surf the waves on real surfboards in our fun and exciting Splash Zone. The Splash Zone is open during the pool hours of 6am-11pm.

Doheny State Park:

Swimming, surfing, stand up paddle board, bicycling, picnic facilities, hiking, bird watching, tide pool exploration, diving, volleyball, kite flying, fishing and more!

A brief five-minute walk will take you to the Doheny State Park Beach.  This 62-acre Recreational facility is a favorite spot for our guests with concessions, fire pit, bike trails, walking and jogging paths and an interactive interpretive center.  It is also the perfect beach to take surfing lessons, wave consistency keeps it a beginner surfer's paradise. This is a very scenic beach with beautiful sunsets.

Doheny is the site for surf and stand up paddle board contests, volleyball tournaments, and many special events, such as the Doheny Blues Festival. Doheny also has a five-mile San Juan Creek Bike Trail and an equestrian trail. (Park Rangers: 949-496-6172)

Dana Point Harbor​:

Located just below the bluff is beautiful Dana Point Harbor.  Home to some great shopping, dining and water sport activities.  The harbor has some excellent walking/ jogging paths with scenic views of the harbor.  Dana Point Harbor provides slips and moorings for more than 2,500 sailboats and power boats and offers over fifty specialty shops and restaurants as well as facilities for windsurfing, kayaking, sport fishing, stand up paddle board and boat charters.  It is no wonder why Dana Point Harbor is a very popular destination for our guests.

BOATING – Opportunities for adventure await the boating enthusiast, from close encounters with dolphins and whales to some of the best fishing on the West Coast. Easy access to boat launches rentals and charters

SPORTFISHING – ½, ¾ or full day fishing trips are available year around

WHALE WATCHING & MARINE WILDLIFE CRUISES - Easy access to local waters, experienced captains, and state-of-the-art equipped boats make Dana Point our best choice for an unforgettable experience with whales, dolphins, sea lions and other fascinating marine life.

OCEAN INSTITUTE – At the far west end of Dana Point Harbor is the Ocean Institute, an ocean educational facility. Kids love the hands-on marine science, environmental education and maritime history programs. Home to the Tall Ship brig Pilgrim, schooner Spirit of Dana Point, and research ship Sea Explorer.

Catalina Island:

The Catalina Express Service terminal is located in Dana Point Harbor.  Walking distance 10 minutes or driving is 4 minutes.  Catalina Island is located 25 miles off the coast and takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there by Catalina Express service.  There are a multitude of things to do and see while you are in Catalina.  Avalon has some beautiful beaches, shopping and restaurants.  There are also some great tours that you can take as well.  Please book your reservations to Catalina Island at least one day in advance. 

Mission San Juan Capistrano:
Open 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily (except major holidays).  After visiting the Mission you can walk over to the Los Rios Historical District.  You will find thirty-one historic structures that include three adobes built in 1794.  A local favorite restaurant is the Ramos House Café. Zoomar's Petting Zoo is a delight for kids and adults alike.

Laguna Beach:
Laguna Beach is an Orange County “treasure".  Home of three different art festivals each year, The Pageant of The Masters production, a school of art and design, Laguna Beach is a community rich in creativity. There is a great playhouse, excellent restaurants, great clubs and wonderful beaches.  Forest Avenue is the main street in Laguna Beach with wonderful shops, art galleries and eateries. 

Laguna Beach is also home to a wide variety of native wildlife, plant and birds. Enjoy hikes in beautiful Laguna wilderness of Aliso and Wood Canyon Wilderness Parks.

San Clemente:
San Clemente is a popular surfing destination and offers shopping and dining on Delmar Street.  There also are great walking and biking paths along the beach. The San Clemente pier is home to The Fisherman's Restaurant where you can enjoy great fish and seafood.

Newport Beach:
You can also take a 20-minute drive along beautiful coastal Pacific Coast Highway to Newport Beach, which offers the largest recreational harbor on the West Coast. Balboa Fun Zone in the Balboa peninsula has rides, arcades, tasty treats, several restaurants, Ferris wheel not to mention great ocean view. The Wedge, where the peninsula meets the harbor jetty, is one of the world's most famous body surfing and bodyboarding spots. The upscale open-air elegant Fashion Island mall is another shopping and dining destination.
