How to Get Here:

Airports: The most convenient airport is Reagan National Airport (DCA) located just across the Potomac River in Virginia and is the closest airport to DC. It is accessible via its own Metro stop on the Blue and Yellow Lines. (It's also the airport where you're most likely to spot senators and representatives heading home to their districts!)

Rail: Amtrak provides a convenient way of traveling into Washington Union Station (WAS) from most eastern metropolitan areas.

Ground transportation: To catch a taxi from the airport or train station, look for the official taxi stand outside of baggage claim or arrival gates. Ridesharing services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are also widely available and accessible. A ride into downtown DC will cost about $15-$20. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 26 miles from DC in suburban Virginia and is accessible by the Metro Silver Line or a $50-$75 taxi or rideshare fare. Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI) is a bit further out in Baltimore. It is accessible via an Amtrak train route that drops off at DC's Union Station. A reserved seat on the train will cost $15-$30.

Via Metro: The Wharf is only a few minutes walk from two Metro stations, including the city's largest transit hub, L'Enfant Plaza Station. The free SW Shuttle runs all day to connect you to wherever you want to go.
