COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS INSTITUTE (CAI) INTRODUCES 2024 PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Falls Church, VA

First international leader ushers in new era of global collaboration and local impact.

Feb. 6, 2024 — Falls Church, Va. — Community Associations Institute (CAI), the leading international authority in community association governance, education, and management, is proud to welcome Jeevan D’Mello, CMCA, AMS, LSM, PCAM, chief executive of Zenesis Corp., in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as its 2024 president.

D’Mello, the first person from outside the U.S. to hold the post of CAI president, has managed 5 major master planned communities and more than 170 high-rise communities during his career. Among them was Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world, which he managed during its construction and initial years of occupancy. Now serving as head of an international business consulting company, D’Mello entered the community management industry in 2007, when the UAE passed a law that spurred the birth of the profession in the country. D’Mello was instrumental in the formation of the CAI Middle East Chapter in 2017, and he has spent several years as a CAI faculty member, delivering manager education programs to audiences around the globe.

“It’s a great honor to be CAI president,” says D’Mello. “I’ve learned everything I know about this business from CAI and our valued members. My goal is to leverage this platform to share the resources CAI offers with professionals around the world. At the same time, I hope professionals in the U.S. also will get an opportunity to learn what happens in other parts of the world, how we handle issues, and how we innovate with the latest technology.”

D'Mello believes the exchange of information and expertise will enrich community associations and foster innovation. “Together, we can harness a global perspective to empower local community associations and ensure a brighter future for all,” he says.

Thomas M. Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer, expresses confidence that all CAI members will benefit from D’Mello’s leadership. “We’re delighted to welcome Jeevan D’Mello as our 2024 president. His international perspective and commitment to knowledge sharing align perfectly with CAI’s values,” says Skiba. “We have so much to learn and share with one another. We look forward to an era of global collaboration and local impact.”
