The Law Seminar is a one-of-a-kind event exploring trends and practices in association law for attorneys, management professionals and other industry leaders. The seminar programming is intended for community association lawyers, however other professionals benefit from advanced content at the education sessions.

Associates Track:

L:100 – Essentials of Community Association Law (For Attorneys Only)
Successful community association legal practice starts with the essentials and a strong ethical approach. Join experienced community association lawyers for an overview and case-law examples of the legal basis of community associations' rights and responsibilities as it relates to assessments, maintenance, policy, restrictions, and litigation, and how all the players involved make it come together.

Managing Partner Track:
Running a Community Association Law Practice
Join managing partners and other community association law firm executive leaders from around the country for a two-part workshop to help you better lead your association practice. The first half features a panel of managing and executive level partners discussing common challenges and best practices, including starting a new firm; what happens when a partner leaves the firm; practicing community association la​w within a multi-practice large firm; challenges of medium and small firm association practices; marketing; retirement planning; and human resource and business management issues. The second half provides time for attendees to gather in networking groups with firm leaders from different markets to share their own ideas and individual experiences.​

Cancellation Policy: 
Full refunds will be issued if written cancellation is received by Dec.15, 2017. Cancellations received between Dec.16-31, 2017, are subject to a 50% administrative fee. Registration fees are not refundable after Dec.31, 2017. E-mail cancellations to hcarson@caionline.org. Substitutions may be made by phone or e-mail until Jan.24, 2018. After this date, all changes must be made on site.

CAI Suitcasing Policy: CAI has a no-tolerance policy regarding "suitcasing," which describes the practice by nonexhibiting companies or individuals of soliciting sales or sales leads in the aisles, or in the lobbies, and/or representing their services or soliciting seminar participants including social activities. Nonsponsoring suppliers participating in the seminar as attendees or speakers are prohibited from soliciting business in or after sessions or in the seminar hotel.

Private Party Policy: All hospitality suites and hosted events must be reserved, approved and paid for through CAI. Hospitality suites/hosted events are not permitted during official conference activities. Nonexhibiting suppliers are not permitted to host events at the official hotel during the conference.

Violators of these policies will be ejected from the show, if exhibiting, and charged the tabletop sponsorship rate ($2,100), which must be paid prior to registering as an attendee, exhibitor or sponsor at any future CAI conference or other event.
