CAI Publications Win Two National Awards

6/16/2000  -  Alexandria, VA

The Community Associations Institute (CAI) was recently awarded two national awards from the Society of National Association Publications (SNAP). CAI publications competed in two categories against more than 800 other entries.

Common Ground™, the bi-monthly, official publication of CAI, received the Gold Award in the Magazines, General Excellence, less than $500,000 category. This year's judges said that Common Ground's "strong editorial content keeps reader interest alive. The snappy writing makes this publication an enjoyable read. Its clean, well-organized appearance placed this entrant solidly at the forefront among the contenders."

"We're really thrilled to receive the SNAP awards," said Kris Cook, CAE, senior vice president for CAI. "Common Ground™ is our flagship publication, and we strive to keep it a dynamic publication—interesting, informative and attractive. It's great to receive confirmation from out peers that we're hitting the mark."

In addition, a collection of CAI publications and communications tools were awarded the Bronze Award in the category of General Excellence of Editorial Products. CAI was honored for its newly redesigned Web site, the publications Getting Connected and Community First, as well as Common Ground™. These four vehicles were submitted as a group, and won the award for their combined message.

The Community Associations Institute is a nonprofit association created in 1973 to educate and represent the nation's 205,000 community associations—condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives. CAI members include homeowners, associations and related professionals and service providers.
