Community Associations Institute (CAI) has awarded career-enhancing designations to almost 900 industry professionals during the past 14 months—including 180 recipients of the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation, the highest and most prestigious credential for community association managers.
The following designations were also awarded between March 1, 2010, and May 31, 2011:
Recipients of the designations are listed below.
“We applaud these dedicated individuals for their commitment to education and professional development,” says CAI Chief Executive Officer Thomas M. Skiba, CAE. “We know CAI designations engender professional and personal respect and spawn more successful and rewarding careers, but they also elevate the professionalism of the industry at large. That’s essential given the importance of the work performed by these professionals.”
The AMS is the second tier of professional certification and designations for community association managers. The first tier is the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) credential, administered by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). The LSM is a specialized designation that can be earned only after the manager has a PCAM.
The RS designation recognizes a high level of competency in the conduct of reserve studies. The CIRMS designation recognizes a demonstrated expertise within the risk management profession.
CAI's designation programs were established in the 1990s and early 2000s to elevate the level of professionalism in the community association marketplace, a dynamic segment of the U.S. housing market that now encompasses more than 60 million Americans in almost 310,000 association-governed communities.
To date, more than 2,000 managers have earned the PCAM designation while more than 5,000 have earned the AMS. More than 200 professionals have received the RS designation, while almost 100 have been awarded the CIRMS.
