Nominate Someone Today

CAI would like to acknowledge successful association board members who go above and beyond to serve their communities. Help us highlight these special individuals by nominating a board member colleague, client, or acquaintance as we salute the world's Outstanding Homeowner Leaders. We encourage you to nominate your fellow CAI members for this recognition! Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 12, 2018.

All nominees will be listed on our website as Outstanding Homeowner Leaders. CAI's Homeowner Leaders Council will select 10 honorees and one overall honoree. Each of the selected honorees will be offered free registration to the CAI Annual Conference and Exposition, May 9–12, in Washington, D.C., and will be recognized at the event. QUALIFICATIONS/RESTRICTIONS

Nominees must have:

  • At least three (3) years of active involvement with his/her association
  • Served at least one (1) term (current or previous) on his/her association board

Nominees cannot:

  • Work for a builder/developer or be appointed by a builder/developer
  • Have worked as a community manager or been employed by any company that does business with community associations within the last 3 years
  • Be a current or past member of the CAI Board of Trustees or one of the CAI Membership Representation Groups (APCM Board, Business Partners Council, or Community Association Volunteers Committee)

  • The initiative is open to CAI members and nonmembers.
  • The competition applies to all common-interest communities—homeowners associations, condominiums, cooperatives, and mixed-use communities.
  • Nominees must be nominated by someone other than themselves—a resident(s) who lives in the community, the community manager, etc. No self-nominations will be accepted or considered.
  • Nominations should include a head-and-shoulders photo of the nominee and a typewritten summary (400 words maximum) that explains:
          • The reason you're nominating this person
          • A description of the nominee's leadership qualities and capabilities, including concrete examples of the nominee's outstanding accomplishments in the leadership of his/her association (not just involvement) that demonstrate a long-term commitment to his/her association
