CAI's First Ice Cream Social

IceCreamSocialShare03.jpgSundae, July 16, is National Ice Cream Day and we want to celebrate it with you and your community association!

Enter CAI's first annual Ice Cream Social photo contest between now and June 30 for a chance to win a complimentary Ice Cream Social for you and your community association.

Here's the scoop on photo submission guidelines:

Images submitted to CAI for promotional use conveys permission to CAI to use the images in printed and electronic marketing materials (including on CAI's social media channels and on the CAI website). The images don't need to be taken by a professional photographer, but they do need to meet the following criteria, listed below.

1. Composition

    • Show your association at its very best. What is special about you're association? How does your community celebrate summer as a group?
    • Avoid posed "grip-and-grin" photos. Aim for spontaneous, natural and candid images.
    • Eliminate distractions from the images (i.e., stacks of paper products at a barbecue, gratuitous nametags, etc.)
2. Technical Requirements

    • The images must be in digital format, but don't need to be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographs are acceptable. All digital files must be 20 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be horizontal images at least 1,600 pixels wide.
    • As a general rule, only photos taken with a 4-megapixel digital camera or better will produce images of high enough quality. Older digital cameras and smartphones may not meet this requirement. Please submit images at the highest possible resolution, even when taken from newer model cameras and smartphones.
3. In General

    • Clear, sharp images with realistic color are a must. Blurry images or images with poor lighting won't be used.
    • Images must be submitted by the photographer or by someone who has prior permission from the photographer to submit them.
    • Images must be the photographer's original work.
    • Photos containing a photographer's watermark or other copyright may not be submitted.
    • Photos must not, at CAI's sole discretion, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
    • CAI may crop or resize images as needed.
    • CAI reserves the right to reject any images without explanation or justification
