 More Florida Hurricane Insurance Investigations

The state's Office of Insurance Regulation has just released the results of a market conduct exam that reviewed Citizens Insurance Company's handling of the high volume of claims from the 2004 hurricane season. (http://www.floir.com/PressReleases/ViewMediaRelease.asp?ID=2165).

This exam, prompted by consumer complaints made to the Division of Consumer Services of the Department of Financial Services, is part of a larger examination of several other companies with high claims volumes. To see the complete report, including Citizens Insurance Company's response/remediation to the examination ("Subsequent Events"), go to: http://www.floir.com/pdf/Citizens Property Insurance Corp.pdf.
