 Education for Managers

Community Associations Institute provides many education opportunities for community association managers. Our education options range from beginner to advanced topics including community association operations, how to lead and manage people, and how to avoid costly mistakes. Some of our education programs lead to professional designations, while others such as national conferences and seminars provide continuing education credit for renewal of professional designations.

Professional Management Development Program (PMDP)
The PMDP consists of three levels of courses designed to give new managers a knowledge base and experienced managers a deeper understanding of all aspects of association management. Courses focus on such topics as insurance, finance, leadership, governance, and communications.

CEO-MC Retreat
Each summer, CEOs of community association management companies network with colleagues from across the country and attend sessions geared specifically for CEOs.

Large-Scale Managers Workshop
Each fall, CAI's Large-Scale Managers Committee hosts an annual workshop for community managers specializing in large-scale communities. The workshop is hosted by at least one large-scale community and participants spend three days touring properties and attending innovative education sessions specifically designed for the large-scale community manager.

National Conferences
CAI's spring National Conference and Exposition provides education sessions on operations, leadership, innovative business practices, and new and reliable products and services. Colleagues from around the nation come together to discuss relevant issues, network, and learn about the latest community association trends.
