2008 Law Seminar
CAI held its annual event in Las Vegas, NV on January 25-26, 2008.
Thanks to CAI and CCAL members, we are proud to announce that the seminar experienced record-setting attendance—over 500 attorneys came to the two-day forum. This year's seminar presented a menu of programs covering a broad range of topics from basic legal fundamentals to cutting-edge topics like:

  • "The deflating real estate bubble, foreclosure surge and community associations"
  • "Immigration crackdown! Advising business clients on rapidly changing verification regulations"
  • "Town hall meeting—community associations 2020"

In light of historic challenges facing communities on the housing front, the CCAL planning committee delivered for attendees by presenting a keynote by former Federal Reserve economist and Chief Economist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Martin A. Regalia, PH.D. He gave an entertaining and informative talk on current economic trends, the housing crisis and the outlook for the future.

CAI's Law Seminar is brought to you by the College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL). The purpose of The College is to acknowledge CAI member attorneys who have distinguished themselves through contributions in the field of community association law.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credits

The Community Association Law Seminar has been submitted for CLE credit in nearly 20 states. In the past years, the Law Seminar has qualified in most states for 11-13 hours of CLE credits, including 1.5 hours of ethics. You must be registered for and sign in both days to receive CLE credit. Sign-in will be at the registration desk.

Paper Free Seminar

It's a paperless seminar—no more bulky handouts to lug around at this seminar. In alignment with our social responsibility efforts, CAI will only provide copies of the outlines and PowerPoint presentations onsite. Attendees will have access through the web site to all session handouts submitted by speakers (in advance and during the seminar). Attendees will continue to receive all materials on a fully searchable CD-ROM at registration.
