April 17-20 | San Diego

Dear CAI member:

As you know, it takes a community to build a community. For 40 years, CAI members have touched the lives of millions by making community associations preferred places to call home.

Join us for the 2013 CAI Annual Conference and Exposition, April 17–20 in San Diego, Calif., as we celebrate CAI’s 40th anniversary and your lasting contributions as homeowner leaders, management professionals and business partners. By learning about the impact of transformational moments, you’ll gain real-world perspectives for moving beyond day-to-day personal and professional challenges and establishing careers, communities and professional networks of lasting value. Don’t miss this opportunity to benefit from the experience, wisdom and expertise of others as you create your own legacy.

Register by March 13 and save $50. And be sure to plan your travel arrangements so you can join us at the welcome reception on Wednesday evening.

I look forward to seeing you in sunny San Diego.

Keynote Speakers

Mike Abrashoff | It's Your Ship:
Achieving Breakthrough Performance

Publications from Fast Company to the Harvard Business Review have called it one of the most remarkable examples of organizational transformation—Mike Abrashoff took command of the worst-performing Navy ship in the Pacific Fleet and made it number one in 12 months, using the very same crew. In many ways, the ship was an extreme example of the same problems facing many companies and communities today.

Abrashoff inspires you to renewed responsibility for results and success, even while being held accountable for results in environments where rules and regulations pose significant obstacles. His presentation equips you with the strategies to unleash breakthrough performance and achievement despite the odds. Abrashoff’s first book, It’s Your Ship: Management Techniques from the Best Damn Ship in the Navy, is a bestseller with 850,000 copies currently in print.

Terry Watson | Why Be Normal?

Do you need a little clarity? The difference between good and great often lies in subtle, unconscious things we do to sabotage ourselves, and many times awareness is curative. In this high-energy, motivational session, Terry Watson will explain and demonstrate the simple things you can do today to reach your full potential. You'll learn why you should never let “perfect” get in the way of “better” as you work toward meaningful change.

As founder and president of consulting firm Watson World Inc., Watson has provided motivational seminars and training in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, New Zealand and the United States. His interactive presentation style encourages participants to enjoy themselves throughout the learning process.

CAI Policies

Terms

Full payment must accompany signed application. CAI reserves the right to refuse any exhibitor/sponsorship application or to cancel any prepaid exhibitor/sponsorship it deems appropriate to avoid conflicts of interest. CAI will refund payments for canceled exhibit/sponsorships if marketing did not include exhibit/sponsor and if written requests are received by Feb. 10, 2013. Exhibit/sponsorship refunds or cancellations cannot be made after any promotional materials have been created.

Suitcasing Policy

CAI has a no-tolerance policy regarding “suitcasing,” which describes the practice of nonexhibiting companies or individuals soliciting sales on the tradeshow floor, in the aisles or in the lobbies, and/or representing their services or soliciting conference participants for conflicting social activities.

Nonsponsoring suppliers participating in the conference as attendees or speakers are prohibited from soliciting business in or after sessions or in the conference hotel.

Private Party Policy

Hospitality suites and hosted events must be approved by CAI. Only hosted events approved or sponsored by CAI are permitted during official conference activities.

Violators of these policies will be ejected from the show and charged the single-booth rate ($1,750), which must be paid prior to registering as an attendee, exhibitor or sponsor at any future CAI conferences or events.
