 President's Club

The CAI President's Club was created in 1984 as a special fundraising organization of dedicated volunteer leaders within Community Associations Institute. Today, it has 37 member firms and companies. Members of the President's Club and their respective firms and companies take great pride in those accomplishments directly attributable to their efforts and generosity.

The Club, whose members pay an initial $7,500 commitment, paid in one to five installments, and an annual maintenance fee, reviews and approves applications to fund worthy CAI projects.

The mission of the Club is:

  • Providing venture capital to develop and fund strategic initiatives
  • Fostering innovative and entrepreneurial ideas for advancing the industry and its influence
  • Serving as an incubator for emerging concepts addressing the needs of the industry

The goals of the Club are:

  • To raise $1.5 million as an initial venture capital goal through external gifts and a major membership drive
  • To create a "safe haven" atmosphere for the exploration and evaluation of high risk/high benefit initiatives
  • To ensure a committed flow of dollars for the fund

The Club has provided funds for the following worthy activities:

  • Committed financing for the financial management newsletter, Ledger Quarterly ($20,000)
  • Committed financing for a comprehensive association manual ($25,000)
  • Committed funds for creation of a basic course for entry-level community managers, The Essentials of Community Association Management (M-100), for chapter delivery and home study (1992-$17,000)
  • Committed funds for complete revision of the Professional Management Development Program (PMDP) course modules (1992-$100,000)
  • Grant to Research Foundation for development of the Community Performance Index (1999-$50,000)
  • Grant for Development of the Community First Resource Guide (2001-$50,000)
  • Printing of brochure and national radio/TV media PSA campaign for Homeowner Bill of Rights and The Essentials of Community Association Management (M-100) revision and e-learning initiative (2002-$100,000)

Each and every member of the Club will gladly welcome your questions and your ideas concerning worthwhile ventures or your expressions of interest. Contact Jennifer Flynn at (703) 797-6324.
